Looks like we took the word for "ekvation" from Latin like all latin languages (duh) and English did, but stuck with our ancient word "lika" för equal, which btw also sticks around in English in the word "like" (A is like B).

For Spanish, well kinda (igual, ecuación), and French (égal, équation) close enough I guess.
To equate things is an equation. A lot more obvious in English than in Swedish though, where "ekvation" is just a loan-word with no connection to thing being equal ("lika"). If we called an equation "likställning" in Swedish, you would've made the connection the moment you first heard the concept.
Frankly, I never quite understood the deal with the "you'd all be speaking X language" argument. If I spoke German, Japanese, Russian och what have you, it would hardly change my life at all. Living under a Nazi regime though, that'd be a terrible prospect.

I både fallet korv och burgare är det ju formen och upplägget som definierar rätten, så den här lagstiftningen verkar ju helt snurrig. Kycklingburgare, fiskburgare, halloumiburgare och en hel drös andra varianter är ju etablerade begrepp sen när farfar var ung.

Not an expert, but I'm not sure if the EU even knows what's loaded on a plane that passing the airspace. Unless the airspace is closed for that particular airline, I don't think the EU can do much.
Otherwise, there are definitively routes that don't pass over EU either.
I guess you could just put them on a plane from the US to Belarus.
