But because masses bend spacetime as Einstein's Relativity says, the light from the distant spiral bends AROUND the blob and gets magnified, creating an Einstein Ring! The phenomenon is called gravitational lensing. It's amazing to see it in action!

This new JWST image looks like one big spiral galaxy; but it's not! The central spherical blob is a massive galaxy closer to us, and the reddish blue wrapped around it is another spiral galaxy behind it very far away. The central blob should block the light of the spiral; we shouldn't see it at all!

Yep, it bends around the earth because of its atmosphere. I saw somewhere someone put it very nicely, something like al the sunrises and sunsets around the world at that moment.

Ugh, correction. What I meant is that red light is scattered away, which is why when light is bent, red wavelengths come toward us like during sunrise and sunset (thus it's red then, but blue otherwise). I explain Rayleigh scattering all the time so I promise this is a typo ๐คฆโโ๏ธ

It bends light and scatters red wavelengths more efficiently. Also, totality can last over 2 hours on the moon. Imagine that.

Wonder how a total eclipse with beads and a diamond ring can be seen from the moon when Earth appears ~3 times bigger than the Sun from there? Well, it's for the same reason lunar eclipses look red, and, why solar eclipses from the moon look red: Earth's atmosphere!

That's actually what we call that part of the eclipse! The diamond ring ๐

Oh. My. Wow. This image here, THIS STUNNING PHOTO, was taken by Blue Ghost on the Moon. Because while we saw a lunar eclipse on Earth, the Moon saw a solar eclipse at the same time. That's us, Earth, eclipsing the Sun. And it just gives me goosebumps to see like this!!

My first try of the total lunar eclipse with a Canon EOS RP camera. I'll definitely need to get a telephoto lens!

Wow. Blue Ghost has taken is first images, and one of them was this: sunrise on the Moon. That's our Sun, as a star. From the Moon. Beautiful.

Okay, you're not looking at Earth from your balcony here. You're looking at a photograph. So I'm comparing to a photograph, because I'm comparing apples to apples, not apples to cats.

All about the field of view in the image. The moon looks tiny on a phone camera until you zoom in.

Blue Ghost, the moon lander from Firefly Aerospace, landed on the moon last night. It took a selfie from the lander. And that's us, up in the sky โค๏ธ

And a private company cannot operate without profit. In any case, I'm not on social media to try to convince people that they must see things as I do, and I'm certainly not on here to argue. I'm happy to have my opinions and share a world with people who have different ones. Have a great day!

A private company requires a "profit incentive," otherwise it wouldn't be able to pay its employees. I operate with a more realistic worldview. No one said anything is "restricted" to the private sector, but the private sector did benefit space exploration, which is why NASA works with them.

Reusable rockets were created by the private sector. The many engineers who worked hard on it deserve credit. Whether I like who's on top is besides the point. I just want space exploration to thrive. The beauty of having a diverse society is that we can have differing opinions, and that's okay ๐

I'm not a fan of violence. I also believe the private sector is necessary to push space exploration forward. However, their funding should also be private; my tax dollars should only fund government agencies like NASA.
