Excellent info sheet! Iβve saved it. Thank you. One never knows where in the world itβll spring up next.

Thanks for the heads-up. Iβve a few loose ends in Australia with two of my war dead so Iβll try to free up the time to check them out today. Also robustly kicking myself that I had forgotten to check for such openings round about 26 January!
This is absolutely delightful. Read the link with pleasure as well!

Thanks for the tip. I also use Family Names from home, logging in from my local library. Bookbub is a new find for me. It delivers a daily email alerting you to active cut price offers (99p) for both Kindle & Kobo. Got a few useful military books recently for background for my war graves blogs.
We had a fantastic end of year Old Front Line Podcast Supporter's Evening where @profpeterdoyle.bsky.social gave a superb illustrated talk on 'Remembering Tommy' in #WW1. Thanks Peter, and thanks to all supporters who joined us.

Definitely! I always point out that every line of descent that we've ever traced effectively ends (or starts!) with a 'brickwall' and that every time we break down a 'brickwall' we instantly create two more - which is far too depressing - so I like 'treetops' as a concept. It suggests opportunities!
Indeed it is! Iβll be quoting you on this when I meet my U3A genealogy group this week π
Absolutely delighted to purchase the Kindle version of Putting your Ancestors in their Place, &I look forward to reading it. The 2014 version has been so useful to me over the years and I regularly recommend it to my U3A groups. πππ
Front cover of "Putting Your Ancestors in the Place" features and aerial shot of a small town or village with the countryside fading into the background. The cover retains the style of the original edition which came out in 2014.

How delightful! I am sorely tempted to try this out because I hear in it the impelling voice of my familyβs βreceiptsβ. π
Yes! There were quite a few on this, my less stroppy handle, and I was initially reluctant to reject until I saw that pattern and then had to waste time unfollowing these pests. Btw it has felt great, over the past few weeks, to see so many old friends also committing to blue skies.
Happened to me today too, but I have been consoled by the reminder from @mandytherootsgenie.bsky.social that itβs been recorded.
Welcome!
Is anyone doing anything about #Hornchurch ? Dad has been reminiscing about his childhood there during the war. Be lovely to share them. I know there isnβt a #OnePlaceStudies but maybe it isnβt registered yet.
Youβve expressed my feelings about the outcome perfectly.
