To knit socks you need to be able to knit, purl and to do increases and decreases - usually a knit 2 together and an SSK, plus you need to learn to knit in the round, some heels require short row shaping, plus slip stitch. Very Pink Knits on you tube is good for basic technique tutorials.
Very Pink Knits, or Roxanne Richardson on you tube have some good technique tutorials. As a crocheter, you may find Continental knitting a bit easier than other methods, as the yarn is wrapped around the needle using the left hand. Tin Can knits have some lovely beginner patterns.
Machine knit blue and purple wool cardigan sections with snowflake patterned sleeves.
Flame red Alpaca cardigan pieces. One sleeve finished, the other is about a quarter of the way done.
More progress on two current projects, one hand knit and one partially hand knit and machine knit. The blue one is machine knit with hand knit garter edges and will have garter stitch front panels/button bands added. Both will probably be finished too late for this winter!๐
I like Clover soft touch crochet hooks, they have comfortable handles and they can be found in many craft stores, in the US they can be found at Michaels, or many local yarn stores. Granny squares are basically a mix of chain stitch and US double (uk treble) crochet stitches, so not that difficult.
Thank you!
I joined a few days ago, I'm just finding my way around, it seems easy to use, so far.
A Silver Reed SK280 Knitting Machine with a piece of Fair Isle knitting with a snowflake design.
A Silver Reed SK 280 Knitting Machine, with a piece of knitting in progress, it has a snowflake design.
Teaching myself how to knit Fair Isle on the Silver Reed SK280, there are one, or two escapees, hence the stitch markers, but I should be able to fix those once the knitting comes off the machine!๐
Finishing off the ends, another photo to follow once I have had the chance to wash and block it...
