βGovernor Mooreβs budget confirms that prioritizing the environment will help assure a better Maryland,β said Kim Coble of Maryland LCV. βThese investments are especially critical, as they come at a time when the federal government has stepped back from its commitments to the environment.β
Maryland LCV sends a big thanks to The Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce and The Blue Ribbon Project for hosting Laura Wood, our Senior Director, Development, and Shawn Drury, Director, Communications, this morning. It was an informative and inspiring event!

Please contact MDE today and urge them to include these critical permit enhancements in the draft AFO Discharge permit: secure.ngpvan.com/azcOkesOgE6a...
This discharge permit is importantβ setting precedent for how we manage animal waste from agricultural operations in our state for the next five years.
We need to balance the economic importance of Maryland's agricultural production with the sensitivity of local waterways.
The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) plans to issue a new General Discharge permit for Animal Feeding Operations (AFOs).
DYK? Approximately 95% of animal feeding operations in Maryland are located in the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
Excess waste that runs off these farms contributes to high levels of nutrients in our waters - leading to polluted waterways emptying into our beloved Chesapeake Bay.
Last week, our winner was chosen: Julie D. from Columbia. Julie shared her excitement with us: "Thank you for spreading the word about eBikes while raising money for your important work. My whole family is excited! Going to pick out the bike will be a highlight of our family holiday."
We are thrilled to announce that 100 raffle tickets were sold and the winner will be choosing her bike at the Arnold Bike Doctor!
Thank you to everyone who purchased a raffle ticket for the Aventon e-bike as a part of Maryland LCV Education Fund's 25th anniversary celebration! By entering the contest, you directly supported our vision of a healthy environment for everyone in Maryland!
We commend Governor Moore's and Comptroller Lierman's decision to move forward with an economic analysis of the impacts of greenhouse gas emissions, through the RENEW Act study.

Itβs increasingly clear that amid federal rollbacks, itβs up to state leadership to fight the climate crisis and protect against regressive environmental policies. We need to continue building on Marylandβs environmental progress, and we need your help.
But the longer we wait to take action, the farther away that future becomes. Thatβs why taking action for Marylandβs environment now is critical.
The stakes have never been higher.
As environmental advocates, we play the long game.
Much of our work is about securing a healthier, more sustainable future, both for ourselves and for generations to come.
