Do you have a list of who is in? The restriction guidelines are so helpful to the gatekeepers. It would be great to be able to have a clear understanding of who will (&will not!!!) be there...

"New Zealand's recent experience with standardised testing didn't achieve what was promised. Returning to national standards - either in name or just in spirit - should raise alarms for everyone."

@stephm1.bsky.social if you are still hating that maths stuff, & you are still in Taranaki... I'm around most weeks, if you need coffee & cramming (pre-loading the qs). Taught yr 10 maths for a bit last year, so almost up with the play....
URGENT: Public consultation on the Arms Act rewrite closes THIS FRIDAY at midnight Feb 28. The Islamic Women’s Council of NZ & I personally oppose these changes. We fought hard for strong firearm regulations after 15 March Terrorist Attacks. We must speak up now. 🧵1/7 #GunControlSoNeeded
My kids golf at a private golf course.
They have never golfed at the public course, and they have no plans to, but I still want the public course to pay for their private memberships.
Now you know how school vouchers work.
NZers: if you're over 45 and haven't had a TDAP (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) vaccine in the last 10 yrs, you're due for a free booster.
We are in a pertussis epidemic currently, which tragically has recently caused the death of a baby, so it's a good time to boost your immunity.

"one of the most regressive and dangerous bills ever considered"

The Ministry for Regulation is consulting on a proposed Regulatory Standards Bill - As it is currently conceived it is a constitutional entrenchment of neoliberal principles, with an accumulation of power in the hands of the Minister for Regulation.

#RSB & #TPB: change NZ’s legislative & political environment, embed rigid legal frameworks, prioritise individual & property rights, constrain regulatory powers, & reduce the govt’s ability to implement environmental & social protections & Tiriti initiatives

Nobody wants seabed mining in Taranaki except the National Party donors. Opposed: Iwi, fishing industry, local councils, environmentalists, wind generators. Support: National Party donors . ‘Whanganui council takes stand against deep seabed mining’ www.rnz.co.nz/news/ldr/536...
As a New Zealander currently overseas, what I really want New Zealanders to know is: Inflation was high everywhere. Skyrocketing unemployment and business closures are a uniquely NZ thing.
The first was due to global economic conditions, the second is a direct result of NZ government policy.
Just catching up on Luxon's Q+A interview (yikes) and something that I noted was he kept saying that rents have stopped rising under this government.
That isn't true. Not only are rents rising fast relative to past years, they're now rising faster than wages
Fast food workers deserve a living wage.
Sectoral bargaining works.
Everybody benefits.
Let's get more 😤

@tatjna.bsky.social Hi! Can I ask where you are based? I'm trying to work up some steam about it up here in Taranaki & knowing who your MP /shadow MP is might help... connecting enthuastic advocates directly with the right advocate in Parly can be a good thing.
Such great advice, Sarah! Would it be fair to say that including your actual address helps an MP to decide if you are a constituent of theirs and more likely to connect? Especially if the letter seems to have also gone to others?
What a relief. It is hard to comprehend the amount of mahi & sacrifice over so many years. It should never have been needed, but there are so many of us that are so grateful to all of those involved in the fight.

The Women’s Health Strategy was a VERY hard won victory after years of internal and external pressure.
We simply can’t sit by and let it be taken from us.

The Living Wage is an hourly rate. Set apart from the minimum wage, it’s worker and whānau focused.
Paying the Living Wage rate is voluntary. Employers who pay the Living Wage want to make sure their workers get enough money to live with dignity and many SME’s in NZ are on board. #EthicsInAction
