I worry less about open source, and more about the communities. Open source is a ton of work, paid and unpaid. If the user communities are involved, then I'm hopeful people figure things out.

I finally figured out why the holodeck sims were never contemporary, but set in the 20th century. It's so painfully obvious, that's the only stuff that was in public domain. Could you imagine Federation copyright laws?!
