The Worshipful Company of Farriers, founded in 1356, was a medieval farrier's guild dedicated to maintaining high standards of equine welfare in the City of London.
It supports farriers worldwide ensuring their continued professional development and the excellence of their craft.
Development is not measured solely in terms of roads, numbers, or infrastructure. It is also measured by the quality of the bond between humans and animals, by compassion and shared responsibility for our living world.

The pan-African conference begins this morning with Dr. Yalace Kaboré who explains the socio-economic importance of donkeys, the challenges related to their preservation, the sustainable solutions and initiatives implemented for the preservation of donkeys and veterinary training.

Between panels and presentations, the first day of the Pan-African Conference for the Preservation of Donkeys ended with a presentation of the strategy of the action plan and the exhibition of the Abidjan Declaration on the moratorium on the prohibition of donkey trade in Africa.
Our latest report reveals Africa’s donkey population could reduce from around 27 million to 14 million over the next 15 years, if a continent-wide ban on the #donkeyskintrade isn’t enforced. 🫏 www.thebrooke.org/news/africa-...
