You know what makes a difference to people? Having a home. I understand logistical reasons for having setback laws, sewage, electric, plumbing, etc but many of the laws are just for aesthetics and to prioritize looks over people's basic need for housing is horrific.
Is that not what parks are for? I'm concerned about people not getting housing and ecosystems being destroyed by suburban developments. If all they're gonna use the land for is monoculture lawns and non native decorative landscaping I think that's more of a waste of space than a complex

Suburbs are the city to me so I doubt I would notice a difference. I grew up rural, less than 1,000 people town. I am not entitled to the whole neighborhood and if more people wanna live there, great! I would still have my own property.
Why do you think suburbs will just disappear? There will always be suburbs. Their whole thing is to be just outside cities.
Statistically, most people move to cities though. Why do you think that is? I'm confused why you think providing more housing is not progress. Everyone should have a home and not everyone wants a whole house.
