One thing that seems universally true of all fascists and the extreme right wing: they do not understand the point of art or the intent of any single piece of art. They are all fucking morons who are completely culturally illiterate. Sinead O'Connor would gouge their fucking eyes out for this.

Drove home and discovered that the second, backup car now has an engine light on.

Currently staring at the two cars in my driveway that have become very large paperweights and cursing the lack of decent public transportation in our country.

Glad I wasn't the only person with that response.

I stumbled into video revealing a movement of people who are hosting their own home made websites, linking to each other, reviving the ways of the old internet.

Been ages since I built a website of any kind, but I think I'm gonna join their ranks.

the goal is everything being hosted Online, where people have to pay a fee to do anything, pure rent seeking all the way down

if that means they have to buy all the hard drives and video cards and ram on earth, then so be it

I understand framing the AI bubble RAM supply crisis in terms of stuff like video game consoles because nerds can conceptualize that but the framing does really undersell the sheer magnitude of how it's going to fuck up everything that even touches a computer.

"This movie is built on fundamentally misunderstanding how awful the character is."

Yes, but did you see the scene where the drunk dad died and he's positioned in the frame between two massive piles of bottles that climb up to the ceiling of the room?

A β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…Β½ review of Wuthering Heights (2026) Hooting. And. Hollering.

I very rarely write any words to accompany my star ratings on Letterboxd but this got three. I was all in from the opening scene and literally jaw-dropped several times through.

It fits perfectly into my 4.5 star club - movies I know aren't perfect but still push all *my* buttons.

Really wish my theater would have been packed for Send Help; the folks who were there were all in but there were maybe seven other people besides me.

Still, what a good time. And a trailer for the next Boots Riley movie! The world is terrible but I'm taking these wins where I can get them.

Teens always have some amount of alienating slang but they’ve gilded the lily here and ironically sound exactly like the MySpace era scene kids they’re always making fun of. Yall found your w00t. Congratulations?

Like, I try to recommend The Orville and Ted (the series) to friends, often with the caveat "No, this is really good and not like what you think because of Family Guy or whatever!" but then Ted the Movie is exactly what you would think because of Family Guy or whatever. Help me help you, Seth.

Finally got around to watching "Ted" the movie because I've enjoyed the show and it really feels like nobody hits and misses for me like Seth MacFarlane.

Armies wear uniforms for a reason. And not just because it makes the laundry easier.

I am reminded of certain lilac blossoms on a certain Glorious 25th of May. How do you tell your comrades from your potential murderers? A carrot, a leek, a lilac sprig, a red knitted hat, a frog costume.

Duh.

To be very clear, that lady in the NYT article is not making any money with her hundreds of AI slop books.

She makes money by *convincing people* she makes money that way and getting them to pay her to teach them how to do it.

It's an evolved MLM, and the NYT is helping market it.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from narrating romance books in the past couple years, it’s that romance fans are loyal, particular, and far smarter than anyone thinks. This is going to feel like they’re being condescended to, because it is. I don’t think they’ll take it well! And they shouldn’t!
