Very strange (least strange thing happening right now) to hear Trump say "we're not a king," using the royal "we."

Yes, I'm still on Facebook. I wish there was an alternative, but there's not. Without Meta, all of my friends are scattered and my family simply doesn't exist. Which I think is the point, of ruining Twitter, of ruining Facebook and Instagram: to scatter us to the winds.

You know how on BOB'S BURGERS it's clear that Bob makes great burgers, and if he put the slightest effort into his restaurant's vibe it would be wildly successful? I think that's an important lesson for everyone with customers, including websites and streamers.

A friend of mine is the caretaker for her mom, who is a survivor of childhood polio. She can no longer eat solid food. Symptoms sometimes just appear overnight and never go away, and the only commonality is doctors shrug and say "yeah, polio sucks." In case you needed a reminder.

The great lie of capitalism is that "if it makes money, they'll sell it." If that were true, at least half the stores in the mall would sell plus-sized women's clothing. The truth is that capitalism is not driven by the consumer, but it is driven by people. Mostly people who are not stable geniuses.

SNL pretending that people only cheer on Luigi *because he's hot* is only the beginning. The narrative will very quickly erase justified anger. My brother asked me how many TV shows next year will be about Luigi and I told him they'll be hard to identify bc the victim won't be rich in any of them.

My mother follows the rules, no matter what they are. It's painful listening to her try to navigate a phone tree. None of the options are "agent," so that's not what she's saying, but it's what she needs.

When I got a colonoscopy and found out they used propofol, I was like "Oh, I understand how Michael Jackson died now." If I could afford to ensure that I would wake up every morning thinking "well that was pleasant," I would not be long for this world.

Sometimes I like to remember that it took humans thousands of years to figure out that they needed to collect their drinking water upstream of where they defecated, and somehow we're still here.

Avoiding current events by watching old Todd in the Shadows videos while I work (he's a music reviewer) but it's sometimes difficult listening to someone complain about 2013 as if everything was terrible then.

Explaining to a friend that studies have shown that if Wal-Mart pays their workers a living wage, those workers spend all their money at Wal-Mart so it's actually profitable for the company to do that. But it FEELS wrong so they won't, because we keep putting men in charge and men are too emotional.
