Nearly every SCOTUS case is covered by a Wikipedia article, and indexed by Google. 🤷♀️
Especially for a topic like QI, there's tons of open source resources discussing what it is, and what it's not.
I've double-checked most of my side here from my cellphone on my sofa.

And again. If judges differ, then cases can be cited, rather than vaguely hinted at.

The bad habit with QI is judges deciding that specifics of cases have to be substantially similar for QI to fail. But this is not based on ignorance, it's based on nitpicking any time the facts do not immediately shock the conscience.

The entire Tolkien universe was an excuse to get nerdy about linguistics and philology, with stories draped over them because, “I mean, I guess some cool stuff happened in the universe I made up for my languages.”
Heck, the elves speak different languages _because_ they're also language geeks.

Starting university, I was at first a German major. One of the primary requirements was linguistics, and so I enrolled and got the textbook we would work from.
I read the whole thing before class started, I was so excited.

An officer could not simply argue ignorance of the need for probable cause to perform an unreasonable search.
That's fundamentally a part of police training, and has regularly gotten evidence excluded. They cannot claim ignorance in villains of clearly established rights.

Ignorance cannot be used for asserting QI, because QI depends only upon the right being—as said—”clearly established.” It's the responsibility of officers to be aware of clearly established rights, and not violate them. That's why they're clearly established.

General good faith mistakes of fact are even yet another different immunity. The officer is protected while acting otherwise within the law, but for being under a misunderstanding of facts. (I would be held liable for breaking into a neighbor's home thinking it were my own.)

I'm sorry, I'm going to have to ask for specific cases here.
The standard for QI is if the violation was against “clearly established” rights.
Immunity for reasonable misunderstandings of law is Heien, not QI; Heien called out specifically as different from QI. (And requires ambiguity in the law.)

I mean, ignorance or knowledge doesn’t impact qualified immunity, though, right?
It’s based on how settled the law is on the topic, which basically split the whole set of things into “things already written in stone” and everything else is free game.

The gullible and hateful pseudo feminists who helped propel this cause share significant responsibility for the erosion of our actual rights that has, again, OBVIOUSLY resulted from anti-trans propaganda and policy

I'm gonna take this moment to admit i was wrong about the scrubs continuation and I should have trusted Bill Lawrence. In fact i should have trusted specifically Based On what he's done with Shrinking. New Scrubs is actually pretty good.

Category error! I'm sick to the back teeth of comparisons to humans. It's so rife even colleagues do it. What's next?

DOJ Takes Aim At Off-Label Prescriptions in Gender-Affirming Care Fight
The Trump Administration’s arguments in a recent hearing over a subpoena for trans patients’ medical records could also spell danger for abortion access.
NEW: In the first appeals court hearing over one of the subpoenas it sent to gender-affirming care providers, Trump's DOJ advanced legal arguments that cast an ominous shadow over the future of access to medications the administration doesn't approve of, including abortion pills.

They _had_ negotiated observers to come in and check. Trump called that deal the worst deal ever, and then did everything in his power to scuttle any other country from keeping to their word, thus killing the Iran deal after they got their money, and everyone else got nothing.

I don't do this on purpose because that would kill my soul but lord but engagement farming on technical topics is easy
- be a femme-presenting person
- make just a liiiiiittle joking metaphorical use of a tech term that is slightly whimsical
- explaining replies will rocket your content
