The Winter that just won't end made another charge today, dropping multiple centimeters of you-know-what on Calgary. I'm not sure what it will take to get Spring to out in a serious appearance.

Someone told me that Ireland had 60 shades of green. After visiting there, my thought was, "Only 50?" This is the view from Blarney Castle toward the Poison Garden. And yes, there are samples and seeds in the gift shop.

Today's very spring-like weather in Calgary causes thoughts to wander to motorcycle-riding weather and the resulting trips. This one was to Salt Spring Island on BC's West Coast.

Carson Daniel is not much on crafts, but coffee filter, marker-smeared, clothes-pinned, pipe-cleanered butterflies caught his 7-year-old imagination.

Been a bit busy lately, so haven't posted much. Here's a bridge in a town with an unpronouncable name in Ireland. I asked a local about the wood debris and he gave me a minutes long dissertation on a recent flood, with hand gestures and sound effects. I didn't understand a single word.

I was told by a U S source it was to avoid the embarrassment of a small crowd.
