How did I miss that you were doing this? What an amazing project!
A Christmas tree made of sticky notes, in the window of my office, viewed from the the street outside. We're looking up at an old building with lovely yellow stone walls and large arched windows.
doing my bit to uphold tradition
You will be visited by three spirits
Another +1 for radio generally, esp the astonishing breadth of stuff, both music and speech. I've almost entirely ditched podcasts in favour of the Sounds app and there's just *so much* there
Ah yes, you must be one of those Top Men
bw photo of a UK town street scene: cars, a pedestrian crossing, windows of the buildings lit up as the sky darkens on a winters evening. the ground is glistening after recent rain. the sky looks like more rain is coming soon
down our way
moody b/w shot: looking up at the sky with whispy clouds, a church tower has some birds flickering away from it, lit up by the sun against dark clouds
b/w selfie in a round mirror, i look like a dork oh hey I AM a dork
fuzzy abstract b/w of something that looks like a hook, silhouetted against a lighter background. it doesn't sound like much but if I made an album of ambient electronica right now, this would be the cover
b/w shot of a gap between a wall and one of those glass doors from the 1970s where the glass is hundreds of little squares
four recent b/ws
This is a *lovely* thing, you should give it a listen

"Explain Brexit" "Grunt. Waddles heavily over to the center of the enclosure. Click-click-click-click-click... Nudges a large collection of lettuce, melons, and carrots into a big, tight circle. Lays down in the middle of them. Looks cozy. Purrrrrrrrrr. Hup! Stands up abruptly. Isolate: Pushes a single, lumpy turnip away from the main pile of delicious vegetables. Pushes it far away, into the muddy corner. Observe: Looks at the big pile of food. Looks at the lonely turnip. Bark! Drags a large branch over and drops it between the turnip and the rest of the vegetables. Then adds another branch. And a rock. Walks over to the big vegetable pile. Pick up: Grabs a delicious carrot in mouth. Attempt: Tries to walk over to the turnip. Block: Bonks nose against the branch barrier. Thump. Drop: Drops the carrot on the wrong side of the wall. Whimper. Stares at the turnip in the mud. It looks wet and alone. Stares at the carrot stuck at the wall. Heaving sigh. Plops down in the water. motionless. Wheek?"
Did not expect a capybara explaining brexit to be so affecting
bloody hell what a trove
That is a seriously impressive collection 🫡
absolutely
An amaryllis bulb perched in a pot, all bulb and no leaves or anything. Potential, if nothing else.
someone gave me an amaryllis so consider this the first of a new potato update style series
I'm delighted to say we have won the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Education with our work on OpenSAFELY, inventing new methods that let researchers analyse NHS GP data while protecting everyone's privacy, and with complete transparency, in a hugely productive platform!

I’m on the lookout for a new contract (preferably inside).
I’ve got over a decade of experience working in the public sector, mostly in agile delivery management. Two weeks notice.
Not got DMs here but Signal is zuz.1337, or LinkedIn is good.
Thx :)
listening to my copies this evening, hurrah \o/
*standing ovation*
I'm confident you'll like it, but if you don't, I'll buy it off you and give it to another mate of mine for his birthday :)
Stop what you're doing and go buy a copy of The Cords debut album, chock full of jingly-jangly riffs, soft harmonies, la la las, and enough 80s indie nostalgia to storm to the top of the Festive Fifty.

COME TO OUR CONFERENCE!
Lots of people work on medicines data: researchers; but also "medicines optimisation" teams, using data to directly improve NHS care; and teams who build data tools. These clans rarely meet... Until now! Join us, Dec 10th, in Oxford.

Cutting my lunchtime sandwich into triangles. I deserve it.
