Some councilors put themselves out there in public so that they can interact with their constituents this way.
That doesn't mean that frustrations of the entire council need to be so pointedly directed at only the ones that do this, by directly insulting them just because they post on social media.
I think you've misunderstood. It was insulting in tone, which you acknowledge.
But it was also condescending.
It's insulting generally to imply they're not studying policy, and insulting a young Councilor specifically with infantilizing language.
This is very condescending and insulting in tone.
If you want to encourage Councilors to take a different approach to leadership, maybe you should put forth well stated arguments instead of insults.

Taxes, to me, are money I pay to the government so that the government can run things and provide social services.
So parking fees are taxes, a lot of that money goes to the city.
Utilities should be taxes, because they should be government run not private, so those are all COL in my brain.
I consider those cost of living increases, in my brain.
Logically I know they're taxes when it all comes down to it, but emotionally they're just "cost of living" fees and not "please use my tax money for good instead of evil" fees.
That is directly tied to the fact that it's an investment though.
Property value concerns start to look like "get homeless people out of my site".
Some of it may be that houses feel more permanent - you can always move if you rent. (Not really, but in the minds of home owners you can.)
I will only accept this kind of insult if it's also going to snow in the mountains.
If not, then this is unacceptable.
