Oxbow lake?? WHERE?? π¨
Nearly done with the penultimate submission for my masters degree. The essay is done and if I'm being honest, I think it's quite good. Now I just need to mash the work in progress together and sit with a nice brew making sure my references are all Harvard style in the bibliography.
Me at about 9.30am every weekday :D
My street, my home.
Me, today. Chris Killip, 1970s. Not exact but close ;)
NHS reforms?? Yes please.
Cats.
Wallsend terraces look the same as they always have but with modern accountrements these days.
Now the site of the Segedunum Roman fort :) I found this nice homage a few streets over though. Faded but if you know, you know.
Filled a roll after breakfast, developed it before lunch, scanning while I listen to Leonard Cohen.
This is the bit when I get to say that I have held an original photogravure made and signed by Lyd himself. I did a research project on him at uni and it was such a fun ride :D

Happy Threads Day! π±
Popped along to the #UCU and #NewcastleUniversityStrike demo yesterday on my lunch break. Good crowd, good vibes, solidarity forever!
JD Vance is the only person in the world who has been banned from the DFS Winter Sofa Sale.
Yesterday was St David's Day and while I was out and about I was thinking of my Nain. A four foot (and a little bit) tall lady from Holyhead who fell in love with a lad from Consett during the Second World War. She had two boys, six grandchildren, and at the last count nine great grandchildren.
Fresh roll hanging in the boiler cupboard.

My father was a landscape architect and carried two cameras: 35mm automatics, one with colour negative film and one with slide film for project proposals. He would photograph curves, gardens, lampposts, paths... He was part of the team that redesigned the Albert Dock in Liverpool and always "on".
Tell me ma I won't be home for tea, we're going to Wembley.
Meet Kevin; the camera I wanted when I was a fledgling, and now it's in my gaff thanks to @mietekpolskipunk.bsky.social and Alan at the camera shop :)
This corner has had a lot of lives.
Had a play about yesterday when I was in toon.
Late night dev, dried it overnight, scanning once we've done the Aldi run later.
We all know about work wives and work husbands (ew), but what about work siblings? I have two extra brothers and a sister, and we would go feral to protect or annoy each other away from public view.
That's the one :)
Fun fact, Yevgeny worked for a time at the shipyards in my town and based a lot of this book on his experiences and feelings there.
Had to photograph a horrible, awful, tragic, sad situation today for many hours. I think now is a time to remind everyone of the symptoms of sepsis. My mother (a retired nurse with 48 years service) has always said that sepsis is her biggest fear. It is horrendous, please know the signs.
Kind of lost with my MA work right now, so I'm going to hit the books (or the leaked PDFs ;) ) and figure it the hell out. Too many ideas, no time or money to explore all of them. Simplify and justify etc etc
The fact they had to put it on the sign.
