How much more evidence do we need? The ultra-rich and the governments supporting them will destroy everything for the sake of profit, power and pride. Nothing is precious to them - not human life, not the living world - except their own wealth and status. Our survival depends on resisting them.

Muslims are currently observing the holy month of Ramadan which requires them to go without food or water from sunrise to sunset. While the Premier League allows mid-game stoppages for players to grab a few dates and swig of water, French football authorities have been much more restrictive. Under the current rules of the Ligue de Football Professionnel and the French Football Federation (FFF), Ligue 1 matches cannot be formally halted so players can break their fast. But when institutions fail us, it's heartening to know Muslims can rely on the collective to do what needs to be done. The local MP for East Thanet has reacted with fury to a tweet by Reform UK’s Cabinet Member for Economic Development threatening to pull funding from Margate’s Turner Contemporary Gallery in an act of ‘naked retribution’ for holding his council to account. This week, Polly Billington MP revealed Freedom of Information (FOI) disclosures showing that Reform UK’s claim they had saved Kent taxpayers £39.5 million by cancelling net zero projects was not supported by council documentation. But instead of admitting the false figures and committing to stop using them, Cllr David Wimble – who is responsible for funding for the gallery – tweeted, “perhaps we could pull funding for her lovely turner contemporary?... Polly suck it up.” The Turner has contributed more than £100 million to the economy of Thanet, and has welcomed more than 4.8 million visitors since it was opened.

When they said "no" Reform rolled all it's tanks onto the lawns and said they'll cut funding to the entire university if they win.
