When people have asked if Orr's lawsuit against Sim has a good chance of succeeding, this has been my general answer.
Very high bar, Sim has apologized a bunch, can be hard to prove malice and harm.
And then who knows whether both sides will want to see it through to trial.
Most defamation claims don't make it past the early procedural filters and never reach trial. Bar is incredibly high even in a case like this (esp. in BC) and on plaintiff's shoulders to prove. The gap between public perception on how the process works and how the process actually works is enormous.

Police have now released a list of names & photos of the victims. It's absolutely heartbreaking to look at the photos of these kids, who show all the individuality and humour of tweens on the cusp of growing into who they will become.

The overpass is 52-years-old, I believe, and is a monument in our neighbourhood that shows the power of community action and honours brave mothers who faced off against the railways - and won (eventually), finally creating a safe pedestrian overpass - originally for schoolchildren, then for all.
Bad news😢 The Militant Mother of Raymur overpass in #Strathcona has failed a structural inspection - i.e., it is not safe and has closed. No ETA of when it will re-open, from City workers. Hoping it gets fixed faster than the sinkhole at Strathcona park😫). Oh. Wait. That's still there too. #vanpoli
