Oh Lord, heaven knows, we belong way down below
Oh Lord, tell us so, we belong way down below
Way down below, way down below

Go ahead and hate your neighbor
Go ahead and cheat a friend
Do it in the name of heaven
You can justify it in the end
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day

Elon Musk, arguably the best con man in history, does his βengineeringβ with smoke and mirrors. And despite Musk's track record, gullible officials still eat it up.

I've had a lot of disappointment from people I generally like.
At the gas station near my house, unleaded regular increased 30 cents a gallon from when I filled up at 11 PM yesterday to 3PM today. I don't have the exact price from when my wife filled her car, but seems prices were already up 30 or 40 cents from ~1.5 or 2 weeks ago.
Admittedly, I've not read through this yet but provided the abstract is accurate, this is, at least to me, kind of insane. In my experience, accurate 4-8 quarters out is usually considered quite good.

My spouse was correct I never had time/availability to be president of the civic org, but no one else was interested and I'm strangely suited to attempting to restore useful institutional knowledge ("historian") even as I struggle in the day-to-day parts... If I stabilize things, that's a win.
How strictly is "belong to" defined? There's plenty of places I technically am part of but which I only look at every few months, such as a subreddit I inherited or a civic group's channels that I simply can't keep up with because work chaos.
This really ought to be terrifying. We literally have people making decisions to drop bombs in the grips of apocalyptic fantasies.
I've been offline, alternating began working, volunteer work, and house work.
I don't know if I should invest time in catching up or... well, no, I probably should just get some rest.
The juxtaposition of our personal lives generally being about the best they've ever been vs the oft worsening state of the world has been an odd experience.
