I now feel like I will truly care when Dayne's story progresses in the next book. I like the weird relationship he has with Belina.

does a great job of telling Dayne's story and getting the reader to connect with him. There clearly were lots of things Cahill wanted to tell about Dayne, but he intentionally kept this to a novella to keep it short. I think that was a smart decision, as it keeps things from deviating too much.

the tunnels. They are attacked by kerathlin and most of them are slaughtered. Then almost the exact same thing happens in Drifaien and the wyrms. It just feels a bit off.

super distinct. I really love the contrast between Kuni Garu and Mata Zyndu. I also like how Liu doesn't make Mapidere out to be just "evil". They talk often about the good things he did during his reign.

At times, this book is close to an old epic like Romance of the Three Kingdoms or The Iliad. It will sweep past major events in a paragraph, but then it will dive deep into other ones. I particularly enjoyed the little segments of the gods talking amongst themselves. The characters in this are
