Pity the nation — oh, pity the people who allow their rights to erode and their freedoms to be washed away. My country, tears of thee, sweet land of liberty. ― Lawrence Ferlinghetti (1919-2021), 2007 DEMOCRACY DIES IN IGNORANCE

Apparently, Rubio thinks their voters will believe that the Constitution allows this Admistration to change the wording of the Constitution as they see fit. Or, they just don't care what their voters or anyone else thinks is legal or illegal. I vote for the latter.

The fact is, no one has the power to oust anyone in this administration, except for the current POTUS or Republicans in Congress. Reagan, Bush, and Bush, weren't "disgraceful, despicable, and deplorable", but they laid the groundwork for Trump through the Federalist Societies playbooks. So, gmab.

Your post implies that Trump didn't think of what the "catastrophic consequence" would be. Trump lies -- it did not "happen very quickly". The 1st term agenda w/ Iran and Israel, shows the past as prologue: and the 2017 start to the deconstruction of the administrative state to complete it.

Preserving the Iran Nuclear Deal: Perils and Prospects

Trump withdrew from the JCPOA in his 1st term. Hassan Khomeini, a grandson, is in the wings. Iran would remain authoritarian, as he wouldn't be a liberal as we in the west define it.

We have "munitions shortfalls" because we sold a lot to Israel for Trump's and Netanyahu's genocidal attacks on Gaza. Now there are the munitions needed for their genocidal attacks on Iran. Republicans will keep attacking regardless of whether it's legal to do so.

The Trump Administration warned in early 2017 that the Deconstruction of the Administrative State was the agenda. They are just finishing up what was started under the 1982's Project Reagan, then Project Bush-1, and Bush-2 Administrations. We were told it would be painful.

So, maybe that's why the potatoes have been looking much better in the stores this fall and winter. Shame it happened, just to have spuds that aren't green, black spotted, and gouged to pick from.

The Trump card is to never give up. He may back off for a while, but he doesn't forget about his self-serving discernments that demand satisfaction.

Downtown Austin is as democratically blue as you are going to get in Texas (I love Austin). If it's terrorism, it's because the man doesn't like the people who don't like Trump. I'm not trusting the acting head of the FBI to tell the truth.

This administration's middle fingers are getting lots of use. They don't care about the law, and they think they are safe (and probably are with the pardon power). The accountability for Trump's crews should be coming at the state level where possible, ASAP.

Congress can and should vote to end Trump's war with Iran. However, that won't stop them from warring with Iran anyway. Even removing him from office won't stop them. Them, plural, because it is more than Trump. Breaking the law comes easy for them.

All her appearance before you will do is put her answers on the record. Trump, i'm sure, has planned, blanket pardons for everyone in his administration and for those around him. Republicans are hell-bent on shoring up that point of no return by any mean necessary.

They know they are "incoherent" when they lie. They don't need to be coherent to lie to your face.

I too, wish no war. However, we have already crossed the rubicon with Trump. Not even the upcoming resolution to curtail Trump's war powers will disgorge Trump from his continued illegal march into an historic infamy. Nothing will stop this group from that march - even if and when Trump is out.

I want to know how the vote shakes out once all the redistricting across the USA has completely run its course - any idea how that would end? Also, would it even make a difference if the people running the elections were rigging vote some other way?

This is Trump's & Netanyahu's religious war. I condemn their ongoing thirst for the blood of others.

How many weapons has israel purchased from the United States in the last 10 years? The answer to that question, is the very reason US stockpiles are low, Israel buys them. The United States has been the primary seller of weapons to Israel. Complicit in ongoing genocides. SOTU religious war.

I am talking about listening to the SOTU for the decidedly evil plans that Trump has in store for all of us. If someone doesn't listen, they aren't a reliable source of information to relay that information. So, don't take me out of context. The momentum is not the issue here.

If one tunes out an evil person that can control how they live or die - then you are giving up your future life willingly. I will be listening for that in his speech tonight - we all have a stake in that future. First we need to know what evil plans he has in mind. I want to hear them first hand.

In his 1st term SOTUs, he told us exactly what the future was to be with him in power. That's why it's important. The media barely covered him properly, and now neither are our representatives. They ignore the tyrant as he continues to deconstruct the administrative state without any pushback.

25.02.2026 00:07 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

I am disappointed. I am going to watch. I can't trust a media that will not listen, nor can I trust my representatives take on Trump if their ears don't hear the evil plans hatched by a despot. Lies, sure. His future plans are always on display during the SOTUs. It's our future, and I'm listening.

Something in the first tranches of emails referenced a blanked out 'someone' emailing Epstein. He was afraid of running into Trump on the 2nd floor of Epstein's NY residence. He had gotten to his house early, and wanted to make sure Trump wasn't there, before he put in the code to get in.

Trust Trump much? If Trump was to "repurpose frozen Russian funds" it would not be for Ukraine's benefit. Trump can't be trusted with money, and there hasn't been any legislation stopping Trump from repurposing congressionally allocated funds.

During the 1st term 2018 SOTU, Trump crowed about removing 1,500 VA employees. Of the future, he vowed to remove more Federal employees and remove regulations. Well, he did then, and is now. It's important to dissect his words for what is coming our way in the future (even when he is gone).

Opinion | Democrats shouldn't sit on their hands during the State of the Union Now is not the time for a timid response. Democrats can send a clear message to voters during the State of the Union without letting Trump dictate the narrative

Some Democrats are willing to let the elephants desecrate the room without a counter - some kind of pushback against the evil-doers. Deflecting the public's attention from the evil is a precedent that should never be set.

His number have been in same range for the last decade, not 3 months. His last 1st term job approval rating was 34%. His 1st term overall job approval was 41%, four percent lower than any other president in history. The man has never been liked, yet, he won because-- electoral college.

I 100% agree with Symone D. Sanders Townsend! Watch the SOTU. "The American people already sense that something is off balance." So what Americans should see is that Dem Congressional member are "willing to meet this moment with visible moral clarity" not a spectacle.
