Tor is widely used to circumvent government internet censorship. Due to the current total internet shutdown, Tor is no longer accessible from within the country. However, once connectivity is restored, Tor could again play a crucial role in enabling the flow of information.2/3

Since January 8, connections via Tor bridges from Iran have dropped from an average of around 10k per day to zero. Bridges enable indirect access to the Tor network, which is necessary because direct connections are typically blocked by the regime. 1/3
