Period positive truths to remember: Affordable access to period products is a human right. Menstrual blood is not dirty. It's okay to rest during your bleed! Periods are genderless and language matters! Period sex can be fun! Talking about periods is NOT shameful. How was your period this month?

When we talk openly about periods, advocate for access to menstrual products, and challenge harmful myths, we create a culture where menstruation is treated with care instead of shame. 🩸✨

Only medical students attending schools in the U.S. are eligible to participate. Priority will be given to medical students with very little or no access to abortion training on campus or offsite. MSFC will provide travel reimbursement, meals, and lodging for the duration of the ATI.

Medical students will have the opportunity to engage with current abortion providers who have familiarity and experience with the unique challenges of providing abortion care throughout the U.S., including abortion restrictive and hostile states.

Medical education should reflect the care patients actually need.

Future physicians are better prepared to serve their communities when abortion care education is treated as essential. 🩺

Birth control is basic health care. It should be accessible and affordable for every person who needs it.

Birth control SAVES lives. It should never be up for debate.

Most people will rely on contraception at some point in their lives. It supports chronic condition management, pregnancy prevention, and the ability to plan a future on one’s own terms. ✨🗓️

MSFC chapters in various medical schools have responded to legislation that affects patient care and helped shift the culture of the medical community around abortion care. ⁠

Medical students often seek out their own training in abortion care.⁠ ⁠ We’re preparing future physicians to provide family planning and reproductive health care.⁠ ⁠ Patients deserve care from providers who can guide them through all their options.

Abortion training should be a standard part of medical education, but many medical schools leave this care out of the curriculum.

Medical students attending schools in the following abortion hostile states in the US are encouraged to apply – Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, South Carolina, and Florida.

The ATI program includes values clarification, abortion in the first and second trimesters, advocacy training, and a provider panel. MSFC will provide travel reimbursement, meals, and lodging for the duration of the ATI.
