Pretty little emerald in a gold and diamond setting. Ring does not fit on the seller’s finger so they are showing it on the middle phalanx of the index finger. The ring is on backwards- their palm would be facing up for this photo.
My favourite thing about people selling rings online is when the rings are far too small for their fingers but they have a pop at it anyway.

Screenshot of a map of North America labeled “Bald Eagle range map by ABC” that shows bald eagle ranges for breeding, wintering, and residency. There’s a distinctive hole or gap exactly mirroring the borders of the U.S. state of Nevada
Why do bald eagles hate Nevada

Title of book “Glimpses of Bermuda” in very nice all caps font. I do not know what the font is, but its proportions bring me joy. Book is from 1930’s ish? There is no date that I can see.
Bring back beautiful fonts you cowards

i challenge you to find cooler news today than “despite all odds against American scientific research rn, a CO researcher developed a temperature-stable, single dose rabies vaccine that works bc of particles coated in CANDY & SAPPHIRE, & it could help reduce rabies deaths in places w/o electricity”

Reddit post showing picture of a living room titled “What colour is missing?”.
The floor is brown, the walls are cream, the sofa is beige, the carpet is beige, the coffee-table-type thing is beige, the tv stand is beige.
The year is 2025. Colours will not be invented for another 43 years.

I would love a museum which is devoted to the museum interactives that were going to be amazing but didn’t quite work or were unreliable.. but here they are fixed and they do work and they deliver what we hoped for.
I suspect the maintenance team costs are high

This is what haunts my bathroom. If you go to the bathroom and try to close the door, he appears.

long stretch of worked roman stone on Hadrian's Wall.
If you ask someone today to name the builder of Hadrian's Wall, they would give you a funny look. But historical memory is odd, and right up to the 1800s we forgot who built it.
Until in 1840 John Hodgson, an obscure Northumbrian clergyman, published the LONGEST footnote in history... 1/22
