Newcastle would also be really good - I was supervised by Kim Reynolds at Roehampton, she went on to Newcastle. I don't know if she is still there.

Definitely not the only person - I did a great MA in Children's literature at Roehampton years ago, which looked at it as a part of English literature. Discovered some fascinating unknown authors like Lucy Clifford & wrote a dissertation on the pedagogy of Maria Edgeworth.
Shocked at the imminent closure of the Good Agency, and deeply sorry for everyone who's affected. I can't understand what happened. This is a unique, innovative arts business - exactly what we're always being told we should create. www.thebookseller.com/news/the-goo...

some conversations this morning have me wondering: book folks, what do you wish there were more of in how books are covered? and by that I mean: lists? reviews? columns? themed essays? straight-up recommendations? something else I've never thought of?

What's your favourite #BookOfTheYear for adults?
I've read many FAB #books but the one that left a lasting impression (this needs a film adaptation!!) is #NorthernBoy by @ihussainwriter.bsky.social ππΌπ

This is crucial work to be carried out long-term, thanks again to CLPE. It's disappointing to see the drop in overall presence of racially minoritised characters - but I'm shocked by the *halving* of books with racially minoritised main characters.
So delighted to hear that our 2020-21 mentee Munira Jannath has won the Faber books' FAB prize publishers' text category! Congratulations Munira!
This is such sad news. Please please buy from them if you can!
Think about 'the drama of the turning page' - Barbara Bader, well worth looking up the rest of the quote.
An excellent and hugely important book. Love everything by Catherine Johnson. A phenomenal writer.
Some new UK literary agents, reviewers and publishers on this starter pack now. Please do let me know if you want to be added to the list!
