Ah, thank you! I adored this poem. My partner was reading the issue and asked if he could read this poem out loud to me. I was so pleasantly surprised to see your name when I picked up the issue for myself a few days later!

Screenshot of β€œThe Sea-Witchss at Nightfall” from an uncanny Magazine’s website. The text is as follows:

Clutched in cold hands
and freed to blue topographies
a sacred transmission pulses
as the light lowers
a bright chorus
metewintoq is heard singing
from night’s dark throatβ€”

Each moment is a pearl
spat from shell
gesigawitgl
they flow swiftlyβ€”
into our depths,
where we divine the future
far from the closed
mouth of the
nacreous moonβ€”

In the place of low light
wasoqonmeg we keep it litβ€”
the gleaming lantern
of every eyeβ€”
and fish trail stars on silk
as hope sways silver above us
on a sky that toqjua’t sipug
swims upstream.
