The greatest challenge to America is building a future that doesn't rely on exploitation in order to prosper. It's endemic of every country's development in both the America's and is the most damaging remnant of colonialism.

Government's function cannot be to suppress. When suppression is weaved into its functions, it forces the civilians into a zero-sum game of participation. Taxes become unethical and the loss of accountability spreads like a virus, infecting sectors of public to the point of deterioration.

Can't wait to earn my citizenship and dismantle that office and their asinine, kafkaesque function. It is, without question, one of the most maddening circumstances to find yourself in. Being an immigrant is hard enough, why not build a system that promotes success instead of a filter that punishes?

As an immigrant that "fits in" with the ideals of the country that I moved to, this resonates hard. Every time I have to deal with my version of DHS, I get off pretty easily compared to the others sitting in the waiting room that don't look like the demographic and come from far less privilege.
