What a line up!
What a line up!
Just had the most inspirational visit this morning to the Citadel Youth Centre in Leith. They are doing the most fantastic work with people of all ages - from pre-birth to those in their 80s. I came away feeling full of admiration for everything they are doing - and like I want to do more too.
Thank you so much, Vicky! I hope you are well x
Unbelievably excited to share that I have been appointed the new Director of Edinburgh UNESCO City of Literature. I love this city, her books and her writers - what an honour to share those stories.

Beautifullllllll news, Rose!
We β Mahmoud and Ahmad's friends and colleagues in the UK β are in touch with the family. We have no further news. This is an entirely inexcusable and illegitimate act
We are alarmed and shocked by the arrest and detainment of our author and colleague Mahmoud Muna, along with his nephew Ahmad Muna, owners and booksellers of Jerusalemβs Educational Bookshop.
Please share our statement below widely.
Weβre alarmed and outraged that two of our key partners, Mahmoud and Ahmed Muna, have been arrested in Jerusalem for the crime of selling books.
Horrified by news of our friend & fellow bookseller Mahmoud being arrested by Israeli forces alongside his nephew.
A tireless campaigner for the power of literature, Mahmoud was in Edinburgh with us just months ago - please join call for their release!

The Educational Bookshop in East Jerusalem was raided today, and its owners, Mahmoud and Ahmed Mona, were arrested.
The bookstore is one of the premier Palestinian cultural institutions of East Jerusalem; Mahmoud Mona is among the most inspiring figures in the city.

Deeply upset at the arrest of Mahmoud Muna. We hosted him as part of the Momentum Literature delegation and he is the most brilliant, compassionate person. He is an ambassador for literature and humanity. This is horrific.

Ludo has ended up with lipstick on her head more than once. I am unashamed.
(She doesn't sleep in our bed though)
100 Differences Between Poetry and Prose
Glaswegian poet Tom Leonard curated a wonderfully eclectic website where he kept a journal for 5 years, published his letters, poems, prose pieces, and other miscellany. It rewards a visit. Here's one of the poems:

An infrared light echo traveling from the lower left through the upper right of the image. The image is speckled with dozens of white stars, some showing Webbβs signature 8-point diffraction spikes, against the black background of space. The image also shows tightly packed, glowing red filaments that resemble muscle fibers or wood grain.β£ Credit: NASA, ESA, CSA, STScI, J. Jencson (Caltech/IPAC)β£

But a weighted blanket wouldn't drink all your tea, eat all your food and leave the taps on, which I understand tigers do do.

The first funding application I made during my first week in a new job was successful! I am currently at a 100% success rate, it's all downhill from here.

3 Men and a Little Lady?
Check out the bathtub indeed. What's especially odd is that it starts out all "let's furnish this house with the most uncomfortable Ye Olde Furniture imaginable", and then ... THE BATHTUB.
It just feels like a step too far right now
I will dig out my blue eyeshadow!
