The Last Jedi did such a good job explaining why old guard institutions are not to be trusted in a system inherently broken. Finn being one to start a new 'school' would mean so much with him being intimately familiar with the failings of easily co-opted fascist institutions like he was raised in.

The Last Jedi promised me a democratization of the Force and Finn and Rose causing a revolution by finding the Force in every single put down person in the galaxy and I wanted that so much more than Yet Another Movie About How Important Your Father/Grandfather Was

That anime holds up so well though. Probably the best adaptation of the book across any media. I actually cosplayed Franz and Albert with my now-wife a long time ago. We were incredibly inaccurate as I was not gay pining for her, as we were dating.

Shout out to that one professor I had in college (himself a renowned imaging specialist) who interrupted his own intro to bio course to rant about just how much Watson and Crick sucked, actually, and how Rosalind Franklin deserved that Nobel prize more.

of the two books I wrote around the same time, then one I thought would be more 'marketable' -- YA princess put into an arranged marriage with a dragon and then has to FIGHT ALL HIS RELATIVES -- was not the one that got picked up. It was angry cosmic horror scientist, and that's so funny to me.
