Watching fascism lose its appeal to regular people because it doesn't make anything better is good. Watching fascism double and triple down on violence to try to get its juice back is bad.

Tech bros have no taste. They’re devoid of the ability to appreciate or understand anything like art. They hire people to buy art for them. They also don’t understand things like laundry or cleaning the fridge or a toilet because others always did it for them. AI should do that stuff, not art.

Instead rich tech bros are building art and writing piracy machines. They lack the fortitude and commitment required to develop deep skills, particularly creative skills. They want a shortcut, so we get genAI slop instead of folded laundry.

I have a theory about this. Regular people want tech to reduce our real-life burdens: cooking, errands, dishes, and definitely laundry. Rich tech bros already have "staff" to take care of all that for them, so they don't care. 1/

I think this is what made Walz a pretty singular figure for Democrats — he engaged on cultural issues in a way with broad appeal.
