It might be because for the last 20 years I’ve followed sports sagas in the US, but Isak’s attempts at disruption come across as amateur hour to me. Vague, unsubstantiated innuendo is so common infantile. Just come out with names and reasons or stfu and get on with it. Yawn #nufc

That’s great if he: comes back, actually gives 100%, the squad accepts him, doesn’t get injured or play to prevent injury and preserve a future move etc.
Until he shows up, I consider him a write off. Also I suspect our spending is with his sale in mind.

Like you, would rather have him if I could

Are #nufc basically Arsenal of last year? Really solid across the board but lacking a striker?
And, every team has a striker or two. Why do we only hear the same half dozen names? Hope they’re taking a collective breath and make a push over the next couple of weeks.
Feeling positive. Can’t explain!

Yeah I mean the player works. He’s good in the air, strong and runs well. His finishing isn’t “elite elite”, but I’d take him if he fits in

He’s on 10M euro a year. Might be a salary issue.

That’s a good point. Patterns would have been different causing him to think a bit more. Hadn’t thought of that possibility

Did Bruno seem off today #nufc? Might have been Onana’s physicality, but his touch - and more his energy if a pass was a little away from him - looked way off his usual standard.
Happy otherwise . Would have liked subs earlier, but a point at Villa is likely to be a strong result all season

Saw the 2nd half of the U21 4-3 win for #nufc. Points 1. Relentless pace. 2. Tackle timing was terrible! Crunching for Yellow! 3. Slick up front, clear playing out style from the back focused on the wings. 4. Sanussi does not like to cross. 5. Weakest in central midfield. Led to some jail breaks.

Tremendous stop from #nufc U21 Goalie Harrison in the 95th minute to keep the lead. Down super fast to his left. Shakey defending

#nufc 4-3 now. Header round the back from a free kick from Heffernan

Good work from Neave led to an OG

And 2. Yasir getting involved is really interesting. Look at any sporting investment they’ve made, and they typically play By the rules until someone tries to shut them out. The PGA tried it, and they’ve never been the same. The humiliation of rejection will spur a response. Hope it’s massive.

Two observations for #nufc right now. 1. The move to a grass field for the women’s team is actually a statement of intent. The wsl is going to require it, and this is a statement of intent rather than some sort of capitulation as some would have you believe.

Yeah let’s not bet on an Everton retread. His fitness record is muck.
But your point is a good one. Take some chances, but for the love of god, get some speed in central defense, and raise the bloody floor.

The thing that gets to me now about #nufc lack of signings is this: each position they’re trying to fill outside of GK does not require an A+ player to lift the squad strength. Right CB, second striker, and a central MF, a B/B+ player lifts the squad. So be tactical, not dreamers.

The Longstaff #nufc goodbyes got me. Thought it would be easy, but holy hell, he’s so clearly a Mag through and through. Best of luck Sean, we probably didn’t appreciate you enough.

Why are #nufc fans surprised Liverpool like Isak? Isn’t that the point? Have a great squad and teams will want what you have? I mean they can suck an egg, but we should get used to this kind of thing.

It might balance out a lot of the salary differences all right. Plus Miggy and Lloyd Kelly are completely gone.
Who knows with Isak. Could be monstrous, but mostly deserved.

As a standalone transfer, sure. It’s about $16M (transfer) and let’s say $7.5M(salary, about $150k a week) annually. Let’s assume Elanga was $12M and $6M. I’ll be wrong, but not too much. That’s $41.5M a year. So adding 3 more is going to require balancing. Cool problem though!

Doesn’t feel like enough. And if they both go, add a MF to CB and GK as a position of need.
Really interesting how this will shape up

Hey #nufc, if Ekitike is coming in - and I like this - who’s leaving? There’s got to be a big name semi-balancing this out if we’re to do anything else? Longstaff and Willock won’t be enough surely?

He looks the part. Would be an interesting add, particularly if Willock leaves.

Yeah I’d love this deal. He was so good, would love to see what Howe can do with him.

08.07.2025 20:42 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

I think more like 15M, but it might be hard to say no if there’s nothing better being offered. Last year of his deal etc.
And if my math is right, ~50M over 5 yrs for Elanga means -10M annually going out. 10M coming in, plus no Wilson and Longstaff salary, means net positive so far?

Well well. #nufc, I finally let my anxiety get to me and low and behold, an agreement on a 1st team player. Well played you sly ………

Do you mean premiership? Because most of the rest of the big 5 leagues do it regularly. The DoF role is very front facing. In other sports (I’m in the US) all of them do.
Rather than allowing tabloid bs be all that’s said, wouldn’t you prefer leadership that owns their messaging?

I remember an excuse for the training kit that made sense only if a stadium sponsor was tied to it. I haven’t seen anything official on the training ground. Lots of bad speculation only. And the rest - why wait? Instead of riding good feelings, the silence is killing the buzz. It’s bad leadership
