I’ve got Brian Kennedy’s A Better Man somewhere but haven’t listened to it in years.

I do like this album a lot - listened to it a few weeks ago and was reminded how good it is. I think it was the Days of Open Hand tour that we saw at the Guildhall?
Are you connected with Malcolm Anderson (nadderdiary) on Instagram? He’s the environment lead at RHS and is an excellent guy. He’s on Bluesky but doesn’t really use it.
Comeback for Johnny Ertl?
Always loved The Damned. As I sit here sniffling through a bout of man flu, this new album is so uplifting.
We condemn the removal of the Freedom and Slavery exhibit and firmly reject “federal actions and the systemic efforts to distort the historical record and impose through executive orders and actions a narrow vision of the American past.”

FIFTY WAYS TO LEAVE YOUR LOOFAH
Just slip out the tub, bub
Crush it with a handstand
That kind of ploy, Roy
Endears you to me.
Force it down the lav, Trev
Tear it into shards, pard
Defenestrate it, Mic
Hide it in a tree
July 30th, Milton Keynes Bowl. Supporting were The Cranberries, Radiohead and Sleeper. Not too shabby a line up.
Love this song, love the whole album. Was only listening to it the other day.
Happy new year, Rob!
Thanks for all your posts in 2025 and best wishes for 2026, Giles. Your posts touch and help so many people.
A cracking song, and absolutely brilliant live as well.
Thanks, Tom, I’ve really enjoyed your #SimpleMindsTop30
The death of Brigitte Bardot necessitated the update of this marvelous chart. Only three people mentioned in Billy Joel's banger "We Didn't Start The Fire" are still alive. Source: buff.ly/cWkphRB

Hello Misplaced Childhood my old friend, it’s good to listen to you on vinyl once again. Today’s birthday present is a turntable with a selection of favourite 80s albums.
Birthday present… along with a turntable and speakers to play it on…
Merry Christmas to you and yours, Tom. Hope you all have a good one.
I do follow you on Insta but follow Caught by the River on here. Hope you have a good Christmas back in Dorset.
A beautiful piece. I’ve always enjoyed @nadderdiary.bsky.social ‘s writing for @caughtbytheriver.bsky.social and this is no exception.
I remember borrowing Live in the City of Light from you. I’d always liked Simple Minds, but that cd took it to a new level.
It’s still one of my favourite live albums. Have been lucky enough to see them live a number of times over the years.
Billy Bragg's song written in response to Tommy Robinson's campaign. Wishing all the very best to those attending the Stand Up To Racism and Care 4 Calais counter-rally today.

Not easy to get to sleep tonight - have burnt the bridge of whatever career I had left and really don’t feel that my opinions are so extreme that that should have been necessary
Burford looking very Christmassy tonight.
I accept the Puma is considerably safer in an accident and probably has more room inside, but I don’t remember being cramped (and not just because there were no seatbelts in the back which allowed complete freedom to roam).
In the 1970s, my dad had a couple of Wolseleys - an 18/85 and then a Six. These were seen as large family cars. Their external size (L 4.2m x W 1.7m x H 1.4m) was slightly smaller than the current ‘subcompact crossover’ Ford Puma (4.2m x 1.8m x 1.5m).

One of the best batters I’ve ever seen play in a golden era for Hampshire. I remember seeing him batter the touring Aussies at the old County Ground in Southampton in 1993, Merv Hughes and all - 191 off 191 balls. Just brilliant. RIP The Judge.

The Good Old Days Pity the poor children of today, with their calendars stuffed with chocolates, never to know the thrill of opening a small cardboard door and discovering behind it a picture of a bell. Brian Bilston
This poem is dedicated to anyone making a start on their advent calendar today.
Because one of us thought Roger Whittaker was a good singer???
Why weren’t they huge? Still one of my favourite albums.
