With these findings, we aim to highlight that both awareness of and preferences regarding EU funding are central to understanding the political consequences of EU place-based policies.
We also analyze preferences for funding allocation across multiple policy domains and governance levels. Across all occupations, we find strong support for local decision-making. This is particularly interesting in light of current debates calling for greater centralization of EU funding.
First, we theorize that occupation plays a major role: The work logic of occupations, as well as their required skill levels, can help explain awareness of EU funding.

With the Twitter API inaccessible, all research built with Twitter data has become inaccessible (you can only share the Tweet IDs). My suggestions: Share your Twitter datasets! It would be a huge lost to let this information disappear.

One of the big take aways from the Twitter exodus to eg Mastodon 🙋last year after the Musk 🐦 takeover was that it is not enough to set up camp / create an account somewhere else.
