Sweet Veritas. Sweet dearest precious Veritas. No matter how many times, he still sticks to his humanity. Again and again, even under different circumstances, he held firm to his beliefs... at the cost of his own mind. It's a pity, really. He would've preferred if he had just loosened up a bit and see where he comes from, see the reality as is, instead of constantly being in denial and have everything crumble apart upon seeing the truth. Even though he was to blame, it still hurts him to see him like this. The emptiness in his eyes, the unresponsive thoughts, the tears that could no longer roll, as he stood there and let despair engulfed him, taking away every ounce of sanity left in the man once known as Veritas Ratio. It frustrates him that he only exists in his mind. He couldn't be there to caress his cheeks and wipe the tears away. He couldn't pull him into a tight embrace, to feel him breathe a sigh of relief on his neck when he whispers how everything will be okay, have his fingers run through his soft hair as he kisses his forehead... It wasn't the first time he had to eat his memories away to return him from the depths of despair, but he had always wanted this moment to be especially tender. Just so Veritas would know, while the truth might be hard to accept and the despair might be too much to handle, he is not alone. He would never be alone. Because even after everything, he really does care about him.

A soft whisper could be heard in his mind. "They could not be cured. / Free them from their suffering. / Save other people and the world." Thoughts that are not his own echo in a very gentle and persuasive tone, contrasting the intense rage he has been feeling the past minute. While he has always valued emotions as what humanity is all about, intense emotions will throw all sorts of logic out of the window and might tempt him to do something he would regret. The calming voice however, was tender and put him at ease, and it was logical. ... Logical? Preventing an incurable virus to spread by killing the host would be logical. But what if the virus's name is called ignorance? How is he so sure that an acute ignorance is curable? How is he certain someone would just open their mind and get rid of all stubbornness and pride and greed out of their mind and be cured? If he had let someone like that live, would that be a logical response? Or was it an emotional response, just for the sake of his 'humanity'? But wouldn't it be more humane to free them from suffering this terrible, incurable disease? His fists clenched. He understood he just slowly lost himself in his rage. But he couldn't make a decision, whether to keep believing in his own values, let them live and sacrificing humanity while having the tiniest little hope of curing them, or to sacrifice his own humanity for the sake of the world. And the logical voice tempts him to the latter.
