I’m not saying that Little Debbie’s discontinuation of the Fudge Brownie with Walnuts in 2022 was the thing that sent this country into a tailspin, but we did not recognize it for the harbinger of absolute bullshit that it truly was.

Christian Nationalist Logic:
"We're gotta waste millions of dollars killing folks in a useless war because Jesus is powerless to just come back himself and start Armageddon if we don't. He needs our help, y'all! Glory!"
People who believe in an imminent Rapture/Armageddon don't have anything invested in what happens to you here on Earth. You are irrelevant to them and will be treated accordingly.
The CDC’s dumbassery made so much extra work for providers last year when people just wanted to get their COVID boosters, and it looks like this year they’re continuing their commitment to wasting time that could be spent on greater patient needs because RFK’s brainworm says “VACCINE BAD MMKAY.”
Minnesota would like a word.
Finally unboxed and played Hold Your Ground from Buffalo Games. Mutually assured destruction is especially fun when the means of your destruction is a spring-loaded launcher!
Find out what else I’ve seen and some of how
I feel about it at my Letterboxd: boxd.it/1bZ3
My #LastFourWatched, minus a certain title watched recently in a certain basement…
You can’t fix this. ICE and DHS are broken, corrupt, and bloodthirsty. Exactly how Trump and Company like them. Abolish this shit. I’m older than DHS. We can live without them.
1975’s The Black Bird, the comedic sequel to The Maltese Falcon, has lurched out of OOP obscurity and suddenly appeared on Tubi. It is by no means good, but I am glad that I finally have a chance to access and watch this otherwise inaccessible movie.
This has been a YouTube favorite of mine for so long.
Tonight’s movie of choice is Giù la testa aka Duck, You Sucker! aka A Fistful of Dynamite. This Ennio Morricone soundtrack lives in my head.
This 2001 gem was playing on the grocery store sound system this morning and it was a real punch in the nards on my birthday.
I’m sure their family knows. They just don’t want anyone who knows their family to know.
The one bright side is getting more of Mary Jo Pehl as Pearl. She was always a delightful Mad.
The recent news of Rifftrax/MST3k is kinda bittersweet for me. I’m not a huge fan of Mike Nelson, and I really liked the goofy sincerity of the Netflix/Gizmoplex seasons. A lot of Rifftrax content leaves me cold, and I’m worried it’s just gonna feel like more of the same.
The opening of today’s Knowledge Fight summarizes the right wing position perfectly: edging closer and closer to openly wanting and working towards a white ethnostate and using conspiracy theory and fiction to justify their racism.
Christian Nationalism is just White Supremacy in Bible drag.
When anyone from SCTV dies it’s like 30 people have died. Every character they created was as alive as anyone else you’ve ever met.
Alex Pretti was just a guy from Green Bay trying to do the right thing for his community, and he was rewarded for it by being tackled to the ground and executed without trial.
Like Steve Martin’s cards but with a disclaimer for funky brain chemistry.
Funding abuse and murder with no government oversight sure is an effective, durable, and responsible kick in the dick.
In a world of Jared Letos, be a Frank Langella.
Right there with you. Cyd Charisse is majestic.
Finally saw the second season of The Big O. I was hooked on the first season back when it aired on Toonami, and somehow completely missed the second entirely. Thank god for the internet, since it’s abominably out of print.
I finally sat down to watch the first two episodes of Starfleet Academy and enjoyed the ride it took me on. Second chances, new challenges, and building a better tomorrow are the themes on deck, and those are definitely in character with Star Trek to me.
This is a completely unexpected bit of good news.
And then they cast Mark Wahlberg and completely destroyed my hopes that it would be any good. 🤬
