In an extra sad twist of fate… the Minolta Maxxum 450si SLR left to me by the same grandfather is having the SAME PROBLEM!!! 😭😭😭 Battery works, turns on and the lens activates and makes noise, but when you add film it just doesn’t work. I feel cursed.

Yea, I’ll try taking it somewhere this week to find out if I can get it worked on.

Well… turns out that although the batteries I got do work and the lenses moved, the film rolling mechanism isn’t activating so it’s not going to work at all 😥 I’m pretty devastated…

My hand holding a Miolta auto focus Tele point and and shoot 35mm film camera, circa 1985. It’s a kind of chunky looking retro point and shoot with a built in flash on the top right and a chunky side on the left for the odd shaped battery it takes. Still in excellent condition.

A photographer friend of mine helped me go through the film cameras my dad’s dad used to own. I’m excited to try out this simple point and shoot Japanese film camera from 1985! On my third try ordering the right battery for it 😅 but I’m hoping to get it running this week! #filmcamera #photography
