Something to the effect that The Liar is of the opinion that Starmer has made us worse than a laughing stock. I think that makes it game, set and match to Starmer. I do not get how the right are so unable to see that Trump is completely insane. I think the public sees it. You and I certainly do!

Should it ever come to pass then I expect to see the words βYou heard it here firstβ emblazoned across the bar at The Muckrakers. As to the rest of the column, I have made the assertion that Starmer might have got it just about right. As I write this, a headline has crossed my screen from Johnson.

My dear Pecksniff. I am intrigued. The potential resignation of Mahmood, albeit a speculative note, brings joy to the heart. I feel this may be a matter conjured from the bottom of a glass of Old Printable but is the kind of thing that should be shoved out into the water to see who hooks it.

He really believes that 14.000 people donβt work? He needs to get a grip. A goodly number of RefUK supporters are either unemployed or unemployable. Some of them are even councillors or MPs.

Starmer telling Labour MPs today that the Greens are "divisive," "sectarian," and "not the kind environmentalists they pretend" is not going to go down well with the millions who now back Greens. It'll simply tell them Labour doesn't hear us. More tin-eared stupidity.

Iβm sure thatβs right. However, I note that the potential winners in Gorton and Denton could win the seat with around 20% of the vote such is the likely spread between parties. I think that may be the entire electorate rather than who votes but we can see the distortion. RefUK are an instant danger.

That and a commitment to rejoin the EU might settle the case. In the meantime I think I saw some talk of Dave Nellist in relation to Your Party. Aka Dave Spart, I think his presence will ensure that Your Party will split like the proverbial log. 700,000 people must be deeply disappointed.

Obviously we need PR. RefUK does (or did) support PR. We need have no trust in that position now. I can see no way that PR is introduced before the next election but if it were to be a manifesto commitment for Labour it might encourage tactical voting on the grand scale to make sure it happens.

My dear Pecksniff I am keen to allow myself to be dragged into the belief that RefUK is for the dustbin and the emergence of Restore does make that more likely. The difficulty I have is that our electoral system has form in allowing a party with 34% of the vote to nab 63% of the seats.

George Osborne ought to be able to fit it in around all of his other stuff. Iβm sure he could get Irish citizenship or, more likely, buy Cypriot citizenship.

Itβs because people donβt understand it and believe the vague promises of a βBritish Bill of Rightsβ. They just want rid of immigrants and fail to understand that theyβll be next for the chopper.

And then we hear from some fool on Today (yesterday) that Keir was blinded by Mandelsonβs lies. Did the idiot not think that the impression the listener was left with was that Starmer was easily fooled. Not a good look. How Labour gets out of this mess I donβt know but it is imperative that they do.

This farrago may well be down to McSweeney but what goes through the head of the PM that leads him to the view that Mandelson is our man for Washington. One gets that given Trump it might have been seen as a way of sweetening up the old fool. But checks and balances. What became of them?

My dear Pecksniff, you will, of course, know that the celebrated diarist of the Guardian, John Crace, refers to Cleverley as βJimmy Dimlyβ. One wonders why. Everyone has 20:20 vision in hindsight but the idea that one didnβt know of Mandelsonβs peccadillos before his appointment stretches belief.

Our important work at Kent Council to spend Β£600k on a car park to provide free parking for Reform councillors while staff have to pay, is all part of our 'We don't give a shit about anyone but ourselves' policy.
