It’s horrific that we talk about living individual beings in this way, let alone treat them like this.

My 2c re: πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ men’s πŸ’ - IDGAF. The whole organization needs to be burned to the ground and built back up again while insisting on respect and consent as a non-negotiable core requirement for all coaches & players. Until then I’m supporting women’s πŸ’ only.

Watching Secret Mall Apartment on Netflix and pleasantly surprised to find out it was an urbanist, pro-community art project that arose in opposition to car-centric mall development.

Yeah, this. If power corrupts, and money is power, then yeah- being obscenely rich makes one obscenely inhumane.

We need to curb the monopolistic power of billionaires who gobble up entire industries, exploiting workers and citizens; that’s how we get help with the cost of groceries. Throwing a few bucks at us while you gut public services, like trust busting, won’t address the real problem.

That’s freaking scary, I’m sorry that happened to you. I’ve experienced aggression like that along one particular stretch of road near my house and it makes me want to not take my bike sometimes.

The South African government claimed Steve Biko β€œfell” - in 1977. I’m old enough to remember that.
Why are we here again?
Because democracy takes work and you can never let it slide, or this is what happens.

A bird's-eye view of a former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp showing a wide dirt pathway flanked by parallel rows of barbed-wire fences. Groups of visitors walk along the path, surrounded by the remnants of brick structures and barracks, now reduced to foundations. Green grass contrasts with the somber history of the site, as the path leads toward a guard tower in the distance.

Auschwitz was at the end of a process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred gradually developed: from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ Note to Canadians:
In the USA they call their head of government β€œMr.President.”
βœ… In Canada we call our head of government β€œPrime Minister”
🚫 NOT β€œMr. Prime Minister.”

So please stop referring to our PM that way, it makes you sound American.

Glad we had this talk.

Complex highway interchange from the air

Complex highway interchange from the air

Never forget, car dependency isn’t freedom.

Some might ask β€œwhat’s more free than cars?”

Choices.

Choices are more free than car dependency.

It’s not a hard concept.

I’m not pitting cars against any other single mode of transport.

I’m rejecting design that creates dependency on just one mode.
