I like the art you folks include in your publications. Stuff AI would never come up with in a million years.

To be fair I donβt think Bowie was what Bowie was looking for in 1968β¦
Absolutely loved FASA DW TTRPG. Has proper classic DW vibes that the more modern version - as good as it is - doesnβt quite capture for me. Some cracking adventures as well. The Iytean Menace being a personal favourite.
Absolutely loved this when I heard it on first broadcast. Great to hear itβs been broadcast again.
This is fun!!!
@goodfriendsofje.bsky.social any chance you can convince @symphonyhorror.bsky.social to become your third permanent presenter?! The chemistry between the three of you was just π€. The most listening fun Iβve had in ages and the best episode since Paulβs era. β€οΈ
Really good episode.
Coincidentally just relistened to your 2020 Birthday Special episode which covers Moorcockβs Holmes story β€οΈ
Great to see an independent British TTRPG company with such an ambitious and exciting range of games. Shiver, Donβt Play This Game, Ion Heart and soon Sisterhood! Just brilliant. Well done and keep it up! π
Same! I was a bit too young to watch the very beginning of Tom Bakerβs era. I think I started watching from Season 16 as Stones of Blood is my first DW memory.
Great list! The Fifth Doctor has a high density of peak stories so Iβd swap a couple:
The Visitation
Earthshock
Caves of Androzani
Resurrection of the Daleks
Mawdryn Undead
Followed closely by
Kinda
Earthshock
Warriors of the Deep (brilliant setting and concept, slightly let down by execution)
Iconic cover
Masterpiece
Always love the sounds of your games. Right up my street
I have not even HEARD of that. And being a proud Brummie AND and a massive Doctor Who fan and now very intrigued?!
Indeed. There is an entire βgenreβ of this transatlantic liminal entertainment. Fascinating.
There is without doubt a wonderful symbiosis between the visuals and concept design of the original three SW films and contemporaneous 2000ad and Doctor Who of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Itβs no wonder all three have lasted the test of time and remain relevant today.
I imagine they exist in a liminal zone between dream and waking world. As if the vision of American aspirational life has bled into wealthy suburbs of Manchester. Analogous to American βEnglish Pubβ or a Steak and Kidney pie made poorly from shitty US ingredients. Bland, synthetic but intriguing.
Superb. I really enjoyed the prelude episode so great to see the part 1 release. A delight listening to two people well read folk who really know their Moorcock discussing what my first ever Moorcock story. The Warlord of the Air has a very precious place in my heart and is still a favourite.
100% correct. His next two films are Spielbergβs Disclosure Day and Jack of Spades written and directed by Joel Coen. He has starring roles in both. As has been excellent in pretty much everything heβs done so far.
Massive congratulations @gralefrit.bsky.social and very well deserved.
They donβt make βem like that anymore π
I must be losing my mind in the pre-Christmas frenzyβ¦ but I canβt seem to see Twelveβ¦.
One of the best new 2000ad stories of recent years π
I love the deep cuts lore more than pretty much more than anything about DW. Amongst my favourites is the 1980s Marvel UK comics era with the blurring of canonical lines between the Marvel Multiverse and DW. Amazing writers and artists and some really strange characters and stories β€οΈ
We really do live in an era of attention seeking idiocy. Itβs like satirical plague from A Judge Dredd comic. Maybe in the 90βs a mad scientist blended, liquified and injected the the souls of Beavis and Butt-head into the water system of the western world. Ffs
Youβre not wrong. It is genuinely brilliant. Deserves a prestige release. Absolutely superb!
Happy birthday! These episodes are still my absolute favourites from Trap One π
Fantastic photos! Thanks for sharing a happy time β€οΈ
This is perfect
