What do you say to folks when out and about? Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas?
Dropped the ball for Human Rights Day on Bluesky (my bad) but here are a few of our belated thoughts:
Canada helped to create the Universal Declaration of Human Rights back in 1948. In doing so, they agreed that food is a basic human right. Now (76 years later), 1 in 4 Canadians are food insecure.
Our latest newsletter breaks down a "why not both?" approach to charitable giving AND advocacy.
Food banks need support right now. And the government needs to take action if we want to reduce demand.
We need to donate (if we can) AND call for change.

December is filled with calls for generosity and this year feels even moreso. Food banks are regulalry breaking visitation records and they need donations.
Yet we know that food charity can't solve food insecurity. We need income-based solutions if we want to make a difference.
So what can we do?
There is sunshine βοΈ in the forecast for December!!! Goodbye November π
Feels more like the old Twitter!
