Gills Headcanons: -All inklings and octolings have gills,but they still breathe like humans. The gills are just left there from their evolution/ development periods.(think of it like how human still develop wisdom teeth but they are not need anymore) -Big man has gills and they are functional -Everyone has a unique set of gills. Octarians octolings have gills as well but they are very similar to one another. Due to their reproducing process. -sanitization seems to have an effect on the gills. Morphing them look more similar to serratus anterior muscles/ those muscles on the human ribs.
