Sorry to bring bad news this festive season but one of this year’s juvenile females X6F was found injured in Kibworth. It was taken to the vet and X-rays show that it had been shot with multiple wounds. The femur was shattered and could not be repaired. Consequently, she was euthanised.

To be slightly controversial I would say that the majority of American land birds are probably ship assisted vagrants!

Probably is a ship assisted vagrant Sam (two ships currently in Southampton Docks from the Americas) but it wouldn’t get past the BBRC or BOURC.
