Amazing to celebrate all the PoCo Foundation grant recipients this year and I am very excited to be joining the grants committee for the upcoming year. Port Coquitlam is such an incredible community thanks to the compassion and dedication of so many community builders.

Public Service Announcement: When the price of gasoline jumps this week, remember it was refined from oil (mostly Canadian) produced weeks ago, only 2% of which comes from the Middle East. It's a policy choice, not 'market forces', that explains why you'll pay more (and oil profits will soar). /2

75% of Canadians are worried about climate change — but we all assume our neighbours aren't. The result? A "spiral of silence" that makes a worried majority feel alone.
Time to break it. 🌶️

Today is Pink Shirt Day. Bullying doesn't stop at the school gates; it's more likely where power is concentrated, and accountability is weak. The same conditions that make schools and communities less safe for kids make workplaces less safe for adults. 💗

Think about this.

Armies of people out there, incentivized by a company hired by politicians to post AI-generated political messaging as if it’s their real, organic thought.

Dystopian sci-fi? Nope. Reality.

ANALYSIS | Once again, B.C. NDP frames budget as a ‘balance,’ but this time with more red ink | CBC News Some B.C. budgets have big spending announcements, tax cuts, or bold new directions that inspire excited press releases from different partisans or stakeholders. Oh and BC is freezing tax bracket indexing from 2027-2030. Which means gov't can push middle-income earners into higher tax brackets without ever announcing a rate increase. A stealth tax on everyday people while the rich get richer. Cool, cool, cool

Ok first read of #BCBudget2026 as a BC mom here:
- Taxes up on lowest income bracket ✅
- $10/day childcare frozen for new families ✅
- Housing slowed ✅
- Long-term care projects paused ✅

I keep waiting for the part where people with the most are asked to contribute the most... Still waiting...
