The measure was pushed by the Freedom Foundation, an extremist think tank funded by billionaires. In an interview with CBS Miami, the southern director for the Freedom Foundation, Rusty Brown, took credit for writing the bill.

SB1296 solves no problems: It CREATES a crises for working people.

A reminder of WHY this is happening: recent state laws want to nullify collective bargaining & decertify public unions statewide. So this process is by state design.

BUT we will NOT let the state rob UF faculty of a right enshrined in our state constitution. Keep watch for the ballot shown above!

What’s at stake? A majority yes vote means UFF retains the legal right to represent UF faculty for 12 more mos.

Otherwise UFF-UF will be decertified, UF faculty’s entire Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) will cease to exist, & UF faculty will no longer have a union or a collective voice.
