Same. There have been so many great places. First newsgroups, then forums, Livejournal, FB, they all got bought out/commercialized and the burnt. I'm just tired right now but will try to stay here and be a bit more active...
Since the Twitter implosion, I've been pretty much a nomad, from one to the next social media platform. The Meta shithousery is dire hence me coming here to the bluer skies and looking around.
So far, I have only one observation to make. Authors with over a thousands followers... 1/2

I don't like "Your first draft will be shitty" as advice, because it's a really negative framing.
I prefer, "You have the freedom to be messy creating your first draft."
Anyone crafter knows what their room looks like mid-creation. Writers should be as free to be as exhuberent and messy.
Stuck in a scene? Do what the pros do: use brackets. Write what the story beat is:
[Our hero gets out of the fight through clever means]
Then just keep writing what happens after. Maintaining momentum is key to getting the most words on the page. Meanwhile solutions often present themselves later.
When Trent Reznor wrote "Hurt" in 1995, he was a sad young adult in the peak of his popularity.

Assuming all fanfiction is written poorly really just shows you've never been caught in the chokehold of a 150k slowburn that changed the course of your life at 2:40am written by someone whose username has 4 Zs in it and they only wrote one fic and then vanished like an ethereal legend.
