Persistence pays off! At least in encouragement currency. After months of querying TWINLESS, we received a full request yesterday. Knowing an excellent agent is reading the entire manuscript is encouraging, and helps us keep going in the query trenches. Working on the next novel helps a lot too!
I think of it as more of a goal, actually. I always do my best writing if I can work on something every day, even if I only accomplish a few paragraphs or a page. Or a few sentences to plot a scene. And reading intensely helps us continually learn how to put words together into meaningful sentences.
