Oh wow, double or nothing I guess π«£
You didnβt show up for some reason!!! ππ«Ά
& of course the fabulous and just as regretful hostβ¦ βis this really what cloud native means?β

Kind Ben!
A big Ben standing in front of Big Ben
Big Ben x @bentheelder.bsky.social!
Seems like #KubeCon has brought the California sun along for the week! Pro-tip for anyone that has not done England before - layers! Itβll be colder at night π
Anyone staying around Shoreditch this #KubeCon? See you all soon!
The recording of mine and @munnerz.bsky.socialβs #Kubecon talk on βKubernetes Workspaces: Enhancing Multi-Tenancy with Intelligent Apiserver Proxyingβ is already online: youtu.be/9otBF7iQJfI?...
Missing already all of the hallway track interactions with the amazing folks there: see you in London! π
A small card with printed TLS cert metadata and a wax seal of the cert-manager logo
Congrats to cert-manager on the graduation!!
Stop by their booth in the project pavilion if you can for incredible custom wax sealed certs that let you sign the guest book π―
Iβll be speaking alongside @atosatto.bsky.social today on enhancing the Kubernetes multi-tenancy experience with βworkspacesβ aka groups of namespaces at 11am in room 255B.
Come learn about improving the end-user experience in multi tenant Kubernetes clusters!

case in point - you canβt not do things either
To be fair, the naming is unfortunate!! βBuilding a package from sourceβ would be way clearer
(md2man, but same point)
Building from source there doesnβt refer to building the project though right? The project itself is used to build things from source.
The example there is building gomd2json, and stepping through how to use the project to do so.
Unless I am misunderstandingβ¦. It is like 6am here π«£
Iβm confused - youβve linked to a detailed 4 page getting started guide right here? π
Or you mean specifically they only included a detailed page, not a basic one?
(Interesting project though, thanks for the pointer!)
This community has been the vast majority of my professional career and I am incredibly thankful for all of you.
On the flight out here I was already looking at moving my flight home forward and hiding.
Now, I am excited for the next couple of days ahead.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you β€οΈ
From quiet dinners with those I only see a couple times a year, to meetings about project ideas, to 3 different groups of people coincidentally flooding into a pizza restaurant and suddenly excitedly chatting until the servers ask us to sit down as we started taking up the whole place..
I cannot express how much it has meant to me. It has reminded me not only of the fantastic people around me, but also how much everyone cares for each other in this community.
Iβve had a pretty tough year this year. KubeCon, & the thought of being away from family, was quite daunting and scary.
Over the past few days I have had countless friends come say hi, congratulate the cert-manager team for the graduation, and shown interest in my work (whilst sharing their own!).
5 keynotes in a row on AI this morning π«¨π³π₯΅ #kubecon
Merry Christmas #KubeCon! π
Yep exactly - one big scheduling domain π tiered caches for scalability is optional/not required (though with caveats wrt consistent reads): github.com/kubernetes/k...
Ideally, instead of caching, I want to improve performance of operations that select objects across namespaces within k8s π
Next Iβll be talking with co-speaker Anish Ramasekar on securing node local agents like Cilium with validating admission policies to only allow mutating fields and objects associated with that node on Friday, 11.55am, 151G kccncna2024.sched.com/event/1i7qC/...
First up, a talk on proxying apiservers to create the concept of workspaces, or βcluster scoped viewsβ across namespaces to enhance multi-tenancy use cases in Kubernetes on Thursday, 11am in 255B along with co-speaker Andrea Tosatto! kccncna2024.sched.com/event/1i7nS/...
With all these new followers in the #cloudnative space, I guess this is a good time to mention Iβll be giving a couple of talks at #KubeCon in a couple of weeks! π§΅
What happened on BlueSky over the last week? Iβve had a huge influx of followers for doing precisely zero. Hey everyone π
Welcome to London! π₯½
