Midsummer evening on the Susquehanna river just downstream from Harrisburg, looking west at the setting sun over the hills of York County, PA. Bottom two thirds of the image has the gently rippling waters of the river, with some rocks and just a hint of bankside grass. Top third the dark silhouettes of the far bank, and on the far right, the bloom of the setting sun, reflecting in the water
Jon (@churchstreetimages.com) has asked the #BlueSkyArtShow followers for images on the theme of #Flowing this week. While I wait for the sun to peek through today, I will take that and dream of warmer evenings, sitting beside the river.

An alla prima self portrait selfie portrait. I wanted to see what I could paint quickly rather than my usual slower layers of paint. I'm very satisfied with the fabric and flowers. Quick and definite marks. Stropy face though 😂

This oil sketch by John William Waterhouse dates from the late 1890s and is most likely a study for Narcissus; 'Echo and Narcissus,' was Waterhouse's major work in the 1903 Royal Academy Exhibition.
