I realize that to people outside the PNW this is just an interesting news item, but if you're in the PNW, where tracking orca pods is a local religion, this is basically like being visited by alien gods

Let there be as much outrage from politicians in Washington when kids go hungry as there is when I break bread with New Yorkers.
Took two days, but the Seahawks GM just figured it out and also warned the fanbase. www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/...
Have fun! And hope the fuzzy kids are good while you are gone.
I will go to a physical fucking bank and trade these in if someone gives me one
stop ruining money
For a dog that has lived her entire life in Oregon Fuchi sure hates having to go outside to pee in the rain. She stops at the door, puts her ears back, squints her eyes, sprints out to the grass, pees, and sprints back. And I better have the door open!

Hello, from Oregon! We, too, are on the west coast. Just an FYI.
No, not ALL managers, but the majority of them. Zero acknowledgement.
It's quite annoying when you are in a position to do various internal support and people don't acknowledge when you fill a request. You know who does? Devs, QAs, and product people. You know who doesn't? Managers. They ask for something, I give them what they need/tell them done, and crickets.
Wonder how long until companies like Amazon, Google, and Microsoft have their own versions of Iron Domes over their data centers.
Dear ESPN: Why do I have to page down twice every time I load your homepage to get away from the giant ads?
Watching an agent make changes to code in real time is quite entertaining. It's like sitting in the next cube listening to a dev mutter to themselves. And sometimes give themselves praise.
Right?! And I'm not turning on my phone hotspot for every one one of these things. Or, really, any of them. Bad enough I had to use for five hours of work stuff yesterday.
Finally fixed. More things that don't work without internet: air purifier, humidifier, our heated mattress pad. Why do all these things require internet/wi-fi connections to work?! Just wondering, but how well protected is our infrastructure from attack? I mean, it can't handle accidents...
This is a good thing. But, Mariners and Seahawks fans, free agency just got harder.
Yeah...he said there are safety features in the newer ones now required. Sigh.
Had a guy out to fix our garage door today - some gear was stripped and it wouldn't do it's job. He did excellent work but let me know they wouldn't be able to fix my opener again - too old. Came with the house when we bought it in 2002 so I guess I'm not surprised, but still.
And apparently this won't be fixed until 6am. All of our lines are underground and it seems like some construction crew really did a number on a key piece of infrastructure.
Also, speakers. And the thermostat. Which still seems to be running off of...something? I mean, it's not cold in here, so it's still keeping the house warm despite telling me it can't connect to anything.
I have a ridiculous number of things in my house that just don't work when my ISP is down. It happens so rarely I don't think about it anymore, but it includes the TV, rowing machine, and the weight training machine. I guess I get a day off from working out?

A thing I've noticed the last few free agency periods for the major sports leagues: reporters noting the name of the agent doing the deal. Why? Fans don't really care who a player's agent is. On the other hand, now we truly know the who a reporter's "source" is on rumors. Hint: always an agent.
Ha! Umma will put her head on our lap, but Fuchi (at 34 pounds) is a full on lap dog - more for Ayako than for me.
Andy Ogles doesn't belong in American society.
Eff that.
Two hours later, Kenjiβs S&S chicken. Velveting is a pain, but it creates a very tasty final product.
This recipe: Active Time = 30 min, Total Time = 30 min. Me: I just spent 90 minutes chopping veggies, slicing chicken, and making marinade. I havenβt even started cooking yet! Is that not part of the recipe?!
