No Shoot when West Ham won the FA Cup in 1980! Wow. I used to get Shoo and Roy of the Rovers weekly and I can't recall not seeing it for five weeks. Remarkable. I always remember industrial action denying the printing of newspapers when I was a paper boy. Made my round quicker... and lighter.

I know Odegaard is coming to WH on Saturday but he’s one of the players you can admire and respect no matter who he plays for. Salah another. Quality. A reminder from the days when my Grandad would queue across London for a chance to see top players, no matter the colour of their shirt ❀️

From @dominickingdm.bsky.social on Arsenal and Odegaard last night. β€œOne pass to Saka left you thinking of Ronnie Sullivan extricating himself from a snooker at The Crucible, the ball slicing and spinning around obstacles before nestling safely at its intended target.” βœ”οΈ

Enjoyed Michael Carrick interview in the Sunday Times. Seems like a manager at the right club… for now. Not fashionable to hire English managers but he’s one to look out for. Forged in claret and blue too. Just saying.

How Arne Slot fell in love with Liverpool in his first 100 days LEWIS STEELE: There are two scenes which perfectly paint the picture of how Arne Slot is slowly falling in love with Liverpool and how the Kop has grown to adore this low-key, smooth operator.

A Welsh manager in charge of the Welsh team. It will never catch on. Something infectious about Bellamy. Wishing him the best of luck.

The tale of a Man City cult hero who named his son after Colin Bell IAN LADYMAN: Colin Rosler was born in Berlin to a German father and Norwegian mother. He is a 24-year-old defender with Malmo in Sweden. He is the son of the former Man City striker Uwe Rosler.

The pay-off line at the end. β€œColin and Tony Rosler. How can that not make you smile?” It made me smile. Hope it makes you smile too. Love this story of connection to a club. Ian Ladyman column.

This may feel like a whisper from the corner of the room, but newspapers are marvellous. I still have them delivered, I still devour them, I still embrace and enjoy the intimacy of something that is β€œyours” to own. Digital publishing brings much joy, but ❀️ newspapers. Especially the sports pages.

CRAIG HOPE: Why Thomas Tuchel must push Harry Kane to the margins COMMENT BY CRAIG HOPE: There is a big enough body of evidence now to know that, in an England shirt at least, Harry Kane's body is starting to slow.

Too soon to write off Harry Kane IMO. So much more to offer. Not everyone agrees. @craighope-dm.bsky.social is one of them.
